The opening credits for this film begin with a cartoon child playing with his toys, there is then the first three credits and then the clip of the boy playing with his toy continues whilst the rest of the credits play over the top. The credits over the clip are in white text over the continuing clip. The music which is playing over the clip of the boy playing is very cheery and happy.

The credits for this film start of very dark. There is also very loud dramatic music, typical of a horror film. After the credits you then begin to hear voices and the music stops. Lights in a room turn on and it shows two people in a very dirty bathroom and then very dramatically shows a dead body in the middle of the room and the people in the room begin to panic.

The opening credits for Divergent are very simple. They pan across the wall then pan through the city, the credits over this are very difficult to see because they are a light gold toned colour, they're especially difficult to see when the glare from the sun is in the shot. Classical music is playing whilst the credits are rolling and then right at the end there is the sound of a train.

Frankie's Preliminary G321

This is my preliminary video, for this we were tasked to film a stairs scene, walking throughout a door, walking across a classroom and then having a conversation. I like this task because your clip has more depth and it flows very well however I found it difficult to film all the shots needed in the time we were given. I also think my practice of the preliminary task was better than this because the conversation flowed better and the conversation also made more sense, although the setting for this clip is better than in my practice.  If I was to complete this task again I would ask for a longer amount of time to film this because I felt that I had to rush so we could all film in the time given and in my opinion you can tell that this was rushed. If I was to film again I would also check the focus each time I was filming as some of my shots are slightly blurry and out of focus. Whilst editing I also noticed that I had cut out part of what Ellie had said and that meant that the conversation did not flow, luckily she had said something similar in another part of the clip which meant I could use the same phrase twice. I would have preferred it if I didn't have to use the same clip because personally I can tell that this is the same clip and others may too. To prevent this from happening again I will watch the clips on my camera and check I have filmed everything I need and if I have missed anything I can film it before coming back and importing my clips. I was happy with filming in the classroom because in my script Ellie says "lesson is about to start, you better go" and this links to her sitting in a classroom and Isaac asking what Ellie did at lunch time also links to sitting in a classroom.

Scream 4 film opening evaluation

I watched the first 5 minutes of the Scream 4 film opening. In this film opening it shows a clip of two girls who's phones keep ringing and eventually they get killed by a masked person, this then zooms out and it turns out this was a film being watched by two girls, one girl talks about how bad the film is and then the other stabs her and claims the reason she did it is because the girl talked too much. I like this film opening because it starts off with a twist that the first clip that is shown is not the story but instead a film watched by two people within the story.  I also think this is good because the film is based on the short clip at the beginning so you have a rough idea of what might happen however I think this ruins the surprise of it all and also I think the fact that the film starts off with two people being murdered may be slightly off putting for people watching this as they wont be into the film before someone is killed and may turn it off because of this.

Disturbia film opening evaluation

I watched the Disturbia film opening, during this film opening it shows a man and his son fishing, they're joking around and enjoying they're time together, film switched to them in a car on their way home and they are on the phone talking to the mans wife/boys mother. The mother/wife is asking when they will be home, whilst they are on the phone a car drive wrecklessly, overtakes them and pulls in front. They get off the phone and the film  shows the car in front swerves and there is a car pulled over, the man and his son crash into the car which is pulled over and theirs is flipped, they arent too badly injured however another car then crashes into their overturned car, the boy survives, but he is injured, he gets out of the car and walks around to the other side to see his dad is dead, the film then switches to subtitles. I like this film opening because it starts off happy and the people are having a good time however there is then some action and it sets the scene of the movie. I think this film opening could have been slightly longer because everything seemed to happen very fast.

Shawshank redemption film opening evaluation

The shawshank redemption opening starts off by showing prisoners walking around, there is then a voice over and the voice is from  the man in the clip. Alarms then start to go off and the clip changes to show a bus driving towards the prison.  The shot then moves over the prison into the prison yard and shows that all the prisoners are walking towards something.  The shot then changes again to a close up of a man on a bus and the voice over explains why he is going to prison, the bus then pulls into the prison. I like this film opening because of shows a variety of different shot types, it also includes a voice over and it sets the scene. I also think the use of big actors was very good because people will see that they are the main characters amd wamt to watch the film.  The only thing that I felt could be improved with this film opening is maybe introducing the main characters a little better because we only know their names and a little bit of background information about Andy.

Opening the door project

This was a clip of someone going through a door, for this we had to use a long or medium shot of someone walkong towards the door, when they reach the door you close up on their hand and when they're walling through you are on the pther side filming them walking away from the door. I think this project was very interesting and fun to complete because it was quite difficult to make it flow and get the timing right however we had a lot of difficulties when trying to film this as it was difficult to make it flow and to also make everything accurate for example which foot they start walking with. If I was to complete this project again I think I would record several different versions of each shot as we noticed things being wrong and had to go back and film and I would also watch the clips before leaving our location to check for simple things such as the image being out of focus. Finally to improve this is would film the last clip again because Grace looks at the camera after walking through the door.

Conversations Project

This is my conversation clip, our task was to film a short clip showing two people having a conversation using the typical conversation filming angles. I like this task because I learnt how tv shows and films male a conversation look realistic and it has also made me notice the angles when watching films/tv. I also like this because I think the clips fit together and flow very well. However if I was to repeat this I would make sure I return to the exact same spot when recording from each side as I have noticed that I am in a slightly different place. And I would make the conversation slightly longer as this is a very short conversation and it would look better had they spoken for longer and if I was to film this again I would choose a different location as the exposure is off and this makes Scarlett look very dark, this was because there is lots of light behind her so the auto exposure darkens the shot. Finally I need to tighten my shots more because there is lots of wasted space behind Grace ad Scarlett.

first media project

This is my first media project, for this I had to make a short clip and our task for this clip was to include a long shot, medium shot and a close up. Originally I struggled to think of an idea however once I had the idea I found it very easy to record it. Putting the clips together on the computer was a little difficult because I had never used the software before however with a little practice I feel it will become much easier. I like this clip because although it is short, there is a small story behind it and the music goes well with the story but I could have made the clip longer and also came up with a better name.
